The Hungarian National Museum is located in district VIII. Budapest, on the Museum Boulevard. The museum collects and presents material relics of Hungarian history. The classicist-style building of the museum was built between 1837 and 1847, designed by architect Mihály Pollack and founded by Count Ferenc Széchényi.

The museum is located 1.1 km on foot from our hostel and 1.6 km by car. It can be reached by public transport in 11 minutes by bus 5/ 7/ 8E/ 110/ 112/ 133E/ 178 (to Astoria M stop).
